Silvia Nicolis was awarded the appointment of “Ambassador of Bardolino” by the Confraternity of Bardolino Chiaretto DOC wine for her commitment to promoting and enhancing the territory.
Villafranca di Verona, 29 May 2023 – The Confraternity of Bardolino Chiaretto DOC wine has decided to award Silvia Nicolis the title of “Ambassador of Bardolino” for having established herself on the Italian and international scene for her entrepreneurial skills and for her commitment to which has been able to make the Nicolis Museum an avant-garde cultural enterprise in the world, a proactive actor on the Veronese tourist scene and promoter of a transversal dialogue with all the interlocutors of the territory: from the local community to the business community up to the institutions.
With this motivation, Silvia Nicolis, President of the Nicolis Museum, received the prestigious award on the occasion of the “Palio del Chiaretto“, an event held in Bardolino from 26 to 28 May 2023 and now in its eighteenth edition, organized by the Bardolino Top Foundation and the Municipality of Bardolino.
«It’s a great honor to receive this title,» says Nicolis, «for over 20 years, I have dedicated myself with passion and a lot of dedication to the cultural and tourist promotion of the entire Veronese area and Lake Garda, which I consider a good thing for everyone, thanks also to fruitful teamwork with companies and institutions. The production of Chiaretto Bardolino DOC wine, the true excellence of our cellars, and the traditional Palio represent precisely these values, in which I recognize ours: culture, tradition, territory, and relationships”.
A talented entrepreneur, Silvia Nicolis holds various institutional roles: she is a member of the Board of the Verona Chamber of Commerce with responsibility for Tourism. He is also vice president of Museimpresa, the association that promotes the heritage of Italian industrial history at an international level, and is a member of the Technical Culture Group of the national Confindustria. Thanks to the professional experience gained in the Lamacart Group, a historic family business leader in the recovery and processing of waste paper in which it still operates, it has developed an innovative approach to culture and tourism that has allowed it to enhance the extraordinary collection and to make the Museum an example of excellence and an undisputed international point of reference.
Nicolis today represents a lively and dynamic place, a company that works closely with Verona and its province, promoting international dialogue. It promotes tourist flows and community involvement initiatives through concrete initiatives that offer new visions and development prospects.
During the evening, the recognition of Ambassador was also conferred on Sara Mafficini, a Veronese lawyer who stood out for her social activity in favor of women and her professional and human commitment. The titles were awarded by Fausto Zeni, President of the Confraternity of Bardolino Chiaretto DOC wine, Fabio Dei Micheli Chiaretto Consortium of Bardolino, Lauro Sabaini, Mayor of Bardolino. Ivan De Beni, President of the Bardolino Top Foundation, was also present. The event was presented by the presenter Irene Moretti and accompanied by the Bardolino Philharmonic.
The best “Bardolino Chiaretto Classico DOC” producers were also awarded.

Note to the editor
Among the most exciting and evocative private exhibitions on the international scene, the Museo Nicolis in Verona tells the history of 20th-century technology and design. The recognition of excellence derives today from the attribution of the most coveted and prestigious award in the world panorama of the classic car: Museum of the Year at The Historic Motoring Awards in London and the Ruoteclassiche “Best in Classic – Museum of the Year“, the grand gala of the most coveted historic motoring in the motoring panorama.
Further evidence of the value of its collections is confirmed with the entry of Villafranca in the Città dei Motori circuit, the network that unites the 27 Italian Municipalities, which offer the best of our country in this field together with international brands such as Pagani, Lamborghini, Ferrari, with whom we actively collaborate. The birth of the Museum is due to the great passion of Luciano Nicolis. The story of life found its place in an exhibition space of 6,000 square meters in 2000, the year of its inauguration. His masterpieces have been divided into ten collections to build an organic, professionally qualified, structured itinerary to satisfy the most demanding visitor.
The heritage of the collections is of great depth. It represents an exclusive reality: over 200 vintage cars, 110 bicycles, 100 motorcycles, 500 cameras, 100 musical instruments, 100 typewriters, aeronautics, over 100 steering wheels of the sophisticated Formula 1, and countless works of human genius exhibited according to anthological, historical and stylistic itineraries. A journey through the history of the twentieth century among stories, lifestyles, sports, and myths in different historical periods. The opportunity to get to know our treasures that make up the ten prestigious collections: special hours to recharge your batteries, ready to return to your daily occupations with a unique experience in your baggage. Impossible not to be surprised and fascinated by objects and works of art that man’s ingenuity has been able to create.
It is no coincidence that the Nicolis Museum represents a “unique” of its kind and is indicated as emblematic of modern business culture. Concepts of “collection and reuse” that have guided the growth of the Lamacart Group are the same ones that have fueled Luciano’s passion for collecting, allowing him to perceive the value of refined products that are currently forgotten and considered worthless. The talent of its Founder only partially explains the success of the Nicolis Museum; at the basis of his affirmation is the entrepreneurial management of the structure entrusted to Silvia Nicolis, president of the Museum and daughter of Luciano, who has focused on the promotion of culture, tourism and the enhancement of the territory, fully expressing her entrepreneurial vocation.
