Moto Guzzi "G.T.W.", 1948, Italy

The Moto Guzzi GTV was produced from 1934 and represents a turning point in Moto Guzzi production: it's in fact the first model to be powered by an overhead valve engine, replacing the opposite valve one.

The GTW, cosmetically identical to the GTV, was the sports version, with a higher compressione ratio and bigger carburator, for an overall power of 22 hp at 4500 rpm.
It's a very rare model, only 159 GTWs were produced before WWII.

The production will briefly restart after the war, between 1948 and 1949, in a version with updated brakes and suspensions, alloy wheels and a different sportier handlebar, as the bike displayed a the museum.

The GTV will be replaced by the new Astore model shortly after.
