ICAF, Gabry, Italy, 1938
Established in Milan in 1937, ICAF changed name to “CMF” for a brief period and after the war, took the definitive “CMF Bencini” name.
Gabry is a camera made of a metal box wrapped in black leatherette, 4×6 cm format on rolls type 127.
The name Gabry is the diminutive of Gabriella, Antonio Bencini’s daughter. The final “Y” didn’t get in good with the fascist autorithies, who were trying to fight the use of foreign words, hence the name was later changed in Gabri.
