Silvia Nicolis at the Rotary Club Verona: historic motoring between memory, culture and the future

At the Circolo Ufficiali (Officers’ Club) in Verona, at the initiative of the Rotary Club Verona, historic motoring was discussed as a cultural heritage that brings together memory, passion and the future. The meeting featured Silvia Nicolis, President of Museo Nicolis and Honorary Member of the Rotary Club Villafranca, together with Alberto Scuro, World President of FIVA – Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens. Both shared their experience in protecting and promoting motoring culture, offering reflections and perspectives on the role historic motoring can play in today’s society.
The meeting was an opportunity to highlight how preserving cars, motorcycles and records of the history of mobility means safeguarding far more than mere objects. Behind every vehicle lies a blend of expertise, innovation, design, craftsmanship, ingenuity and Italian identity: an intangible heritage that deserves to be known, promoted and passed on to new generations.
Protecting historic motoring thus also becomes a form of responsibility towards the future: preserving memory means keeping alive knowledge and values that can still inspire new ideas, sensibilities and cultural pathways. It is a commitment Museo Nicolis pursues every day through the conservation, promotion and dissemination of an extraordinary collection dedicated to the history of mobility and technology.
