Moto Negrini 125 Sport, 1960, Italy

Among the two-wheeled icons housed at the Museo Nicolis, the Moto Negrini Sport 125 tells a story of typically Italian craftsmanship and entrepreneurial spirit. The company was founded in Bologna in 1950, when Pietro Negrini started a small business building bicycles. In just a few years, production was oriented towards light motorbikes and mopeds, vehicles that were in great demand, especially among young people, thanks to the possibility of riding them without a licence from the age of 14.
Moto Negrini stood out for the quality, robustness and affordability of its vehicles, so much so that it even entered the US market. The business continued for almost forty years, until it finally closed in 1989, leaving a significant mark on the history of post-war Italian mobility.
The example on display at the Museum is a Sport 125 with 4-speed gearbox and Franco Morini engine, embellished by a refined copper and light blue livery. A perfect example of elegance and functionality, testifying to the technical flair and stylistic taste of an unrepeatable era.
