{"id":42373,"date":"2018-03-07T10:48:22","date_gmt":"2018-03-07T09:48:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.museonicolis.com\/en\/39851\/"},"modified":"2020-08-12T15:51:54","modified_gmt":"2020-08-12T13:51:54","slug":"39851","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.museonicolis.com\/en\/39851\/","title":{"rendered":"Laffite Jacques &#8211; FRANCE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Jacques Laffite<\/b>\u00a0(Paris,\u00a021 November 1943) is a French former racing driver, which was very famous during the period he raced in Formula 1.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>European Championship <\/strong>of<strong> Formula 3<\/strong> in 1973 and of <strong>Formula 2<\/strong> in 1975, he debuted in <strong>Formula 1<\/strong> in 1974 and stayed in this category till 1986, when he had to retrieted because of a serious accident. In Formula 1 the French racing driver obtained <strong>6 victories<\/strong> and he was the <strong>best European racing driver <\/strong>of the competition for 3 consecutive years (1979, 1980, 1981).<\/p>\n<p><b>Steering Wheels<\/b>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Nicolis Museum is proud to own the steering wheel of French champion Jacques Laffite, one of the most talented drivers of all time, able to<strong> race in the same year<\/strong> &#8211; in 1979 &#8211; in the top tier (<strong>Formula 1<\/strong>) and in <strong>Formula 2<\/strong>, in the first claiming a 2nd place finish and in the second a total of 7 wins. In the <strong>1985<\/strong> World Championship, when he was a member of the French <strong>Ligier<\/strong> team, the French driver achieved some good finishes and ended up <strong>9th<\/strong> in the <strong>driver standings<\/strong>.
