After this success he moved to\u00a0<strong>French\u00a0Formula 3<\/strong>\u00a0in 1979 and the following year to\u00a0<strong>European Formula<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>3<\/strong>. By 1983 he moved to\u00a0Formula Two\u00a0but hit the headlines that year when he finished third in the\u00a0Le Mans 24 Hours\u00a0with Michael and\u00a0Mario Andretti\u00a0in a Kremer\u00a0Porsche.<\/p>\n<p><b>Steering Wheel<\/b>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">French driver Philippe Alliot held on tightly to this <strong>PERSONAL<\/strong> steering wheel during the year he passed from the Ligier team to that of Larrousse, which in that year fitted the Lola chassis. The French team&#8217;s single-seater was not, however, a match for the other rival teams as it had a Ford Cosworth engine, in place of the turbo.
