The Museum Nicolis among the World’s Leading Collections of Historic Motoring

Finalist at the Prestigious International Historic Motoring Awards

Villafranca di Verona, 15 October 2026 – The Museum Nicolis is once again taking centre stage on the international scene, securing a place among the finalists of the International Historic Motoring Awards 202, in the prestigious “Museum or Collection of the Year” category.

This recognition celebrates the significance of one of the world’s most important private collections and its contribution to preserving, promoting and sharing automotive culture.

Founded in 2000 by entrepreneur and collector Luciano Nicolis, the Museum is now home to ten extraordinary collections dedicated to the history of mobility, technology and design. This remarkable heritage, born from its founder’s passion and vision, has continued to grow and evolve under the leadership of his daughter, Silvia Nicolis, the Museum’s current President, establishing the institution as an internationally recognised cultural landmark.

With a history of continuous evolution, the Museum Nicolis has consistently succeeded in combining the preservation of historical heritage with new approaches to education, accessibility and engagement with the public. The Award – Considered among the world’s most prestigious accolades in the field of classic and historic motoring, the International Historic Motoring Awards celebrate the excellence, innovation and dedication of the individuals, clubs, organisations and events that contribute to preserving and promoting the international automotive heritage. The winners will be announced on the 13th of November 2026, during the awards ceremony at The Peninsula London, in the presence of leading figures from the international automotive world.

Silvia Nicolis, President of the Nicolis Museum, comments:

«This recognition holds profound meaning for us because it celebrates a vision that existed long before the Museum itself. My father, Luciano, had an extraordinary ability: he could recognise the value of objects that others considered obsolete, restore them and envision a future for them.

That vision became a responsibility we chose to carry forward, transforming a major private collection into a cultural heritage accessible to everyone — one capable of telling stories, fostering knowledge and creating value for the community.

To be recognised among the world’s leading institutions in historic motoring means having not only what we preserve acknowledged, but above all what we have succeeded in building and sharing over time. For us, this is the truest meaning of Luciano Nicolis’s legacy: making culture a shared asset for all.»
