Poltu Quatu Classic returns to the scene of major international events with the third edition of the most glamorous vintage cars Concourse of the summer, organized by Auto Classic and the Grand Hotel Poltu Quatu in collaboration with Bcool City Magazine.
On 6, 7 and 8 July authentic four-wheeled jewels from the most important collections of Italian and European vintage cars will shines on the streets of the Emerald Coast.
The event will take place in the exciting setting of Poltu Quatu which, besides the Marina and the Grand Hotel of the patron Antonio Pulcini, hosts several international restaurants and a shopping gallery with consolidated fashion brands. The resort has been developed around a new concept of a life style retail designed by the London advisors at GP House.
Silvia Nicolis will represents the Nicolis Museum of Villafranca at the wheel of a beautiful Maserati 3500 Vignale Spider – emerald colored in homage to the colors of the places that have seen her triumph in the last edition of the Poltu Quatu Classic Concourse
The Righini collection will try to conquer with Massimiliano Stancari the title of Best in Show with one of the incredible cars kept in the castle of Panzano in Emilia, among which we can remembers the first Ferrari built by Enzo Ferrari and the Alfa Romeo 8c of Tazio Nuvolari.
Duccio Lopresto will be at the wheel of the fascinating Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider prototype of Bertone, a dream car built in just two pieces that perfectly embodies the spirit of La Dolce Vita, always the theme of the Concourse of Elegance of Poltu Quatu Classic.
And we can not fail to mention Gianni Morandi, veteran from the crowd hugs of the Mille Miglia and present in Poltu Quatu from the first edition of the Concourse, which will animate once again the event with its irrepressible sympathy at the wheel of a very rare Fiat 1500 Sport elaborated Stanguellini of 1949.
Among the stars of the competition a beautiful Barchetta 166 Mille Miglia that ran the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1951 will come directly from the Ferrari museum, together with the Alfa Romeo 1750 Zagato ” Fixed Head” already protagonist this year at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’este. To complete the Parterre de Rois of the third edition of the Concorso d’Eleganza Poltu Quatu Classic a Siata 8v Vignale Spider and an Alfa Romeo 2500 6c with special bodywork that will come from London on its wheels!
Finally we mention the presence in the hall of the Grand Hotel Poltu Quatu of one of the most spectacular prototypes made in recent years, to receive, in an extraordinary way, the guests of the Concorso and project them already towards the edition of 2019 where the organizers they will open the doors of this corner of Paradise even to the big car Manufacturers, as happens in the great international concourses of Villa d’este and Pebble Beach.
The Jury of the competition will be chaired by Paolo Tumminelli, judge in Villa d’este and curator of Grand Basel, a new great international event dedicated to the classic cars that will land in Basel next September. With him there will be Fabrizio Giugiaro who will draw and carry out also the Best in Show Trophy to be awarded to the winning car of the Concourse, Dominik Fischlin of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este Committee and FIVA representative, Luciano Bertolero founder of Auto Classic and great expert Ferrari, Afshin Behnia CEO of Petrolicious and Alberto Vassallo CEO of Car and Vintage, the two most popular social media in the automotive world.
The participants will enjoy a wonderful experience among visits to historic villages, tastings in the vineyard and days on the beach, driving their vintage cars along the breathtaking scenery of the Emerald Coast. The most daring will experience the trilling of high speed at sea thanks to the “Off Shore Experience” with the exclusive presence of the 5 times world champion Waterbiking Aaron Chantar, included in this year’s program by the organizersof the event.
Another great novelty compared to the previous editions will be the performance of the final parade of cars in front of the jury on Saturday 7th July after the Gala dinner in the Piazzetta of Poltu Quatu, which for the occasion will be enlightened to day light.
As a tradition Simone Bertolero will presents the event aboard a Fiat 500 beach, the favourite car for the summer season by the protagonists of the international Jet Set, among which we want to remember Gianni Agnelli and Aristotle Onassis. Alongside him in this edition of the Concorso there will be Savina Confaloni, one of the most appreciated and known faces of automotive journalism.
